U.S. Military on Alert in Anticipation of Iranian Response

Al-Taj News – Western media outlets reported that the U.S. military in the Middle East has raised its state of alert in preparation for any potential Iranian response, amid escalating tensions in the region.

Earlier, the Public Relations Department of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in a statement: “The American-Zionist enemy, stemming from its inability to resolve its internal problems and its declining standing among the countries of the region, is once again seeking to revive its ominous role and justify its actions before public opinion. It carried out an act of aggression by attacking Lark Island, resulting in the martyrdom and injury of a number of our fighters and citizens.”

The statement added: “This action will be responded to by the people of Islamic Iran, followed by punishment of the aggressor.”

The statement came after Iranian media outlets reported this evening that an explosion was heard in the vicinity of Lark Island in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, before Axios quoted a U.S. official as saying that U.S. forces had bombed two Iranian launch platforms on the island.

Later, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency confirmed that the U.S. military had carried out a drone attack on the island, noting, according to preliminary unofficial reports, that two people were killed and two others were injured.
